ISHPA Certificate Pathways — Terms & Conditions

1. Overview

These Terms and Conditions govern enrolment in and participation in the certificate pathways offered by Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA), including:

  • Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology-Informed Practice
  • Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology
  • ISHPA’s standard enrolment model is enrolment into a complete certificate pathway. In some circumstances, ISHPA may also permit enrolment into eligible standalone units subject to separate conditions outlined in these Terms and Conditions.

By submitting an enrolment application and/or making payment for a certificate pathway, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with any related enrolment forms, payment agreements, policies, and written materials expressly incorporated by reference.

These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and responsibilities of both ISHPA and participants in relation to:

  • Eligibility and admission requirements;
  • Fees, payment plans, and refunds;
  • Assessment and certificate requirements;
  • Intellectual property and confidentiality;
  • Professional conduct and ethical expectations; and
  • Limitations of liability and applicable legal protections.

If a participant does not agree to these Terms and Conditions, they should not enrol in the program.

ISHPA reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any material changes will apply prospectively and will be communicated to participants in writing or via the ISHPA website.

2. Enrolment Structure

2.1 Certificate Pathway

The standard enrolment pathway is enrolment into a complete certificate pathway rather than individual standalone units.

Although fees may be presented on a per-unit basis for transparency, enrolment is for the full certificate program and any payment plan applies to the total pathway fee.

Units must be completed sequentially and in the order prescribed by Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia(ISHPA).

Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology-Informed Practice

Participants must complete the following units in order:

  1. Unit 1
  2. Unit 2

Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology

Participants must complete the following units in order:

  1. Unit 1
  2. Unit 2
  3. Unit 3

Progression to the next unit is contingent upon successful completion of the preceding unit. Participants must achieve the required passing grade and meet all attendance and assessment requirements before they are eligible to commence the subsequent unit.

Each unit is delivered according to scheduled intake dates determined by ISHPA. Participants are required to commence and complete each unit within the designated teaching period. Units cannot be taken out of sequence or commenced outside the scheduled dates unless otherwise approved by ISHPA.

ISHPA reserves the right to amend unit schedules, commencement dates, and delivery timelines where necessary.

2.2 Standalone Unit

ISHPA may permit enrolment into eligible standalone units in some circumstances.

ISHPA’s standard enrolment structure is enrolment into a full certificate pathway. Standalone unit enrolment is intended for participants who wish to complete a specific unit of study without enrolling into the full certification pathway.

At the time of enrolment, standalone enrolment is available only for specified units as determined by ISHPA. Currently, only Unit 1 is available for standalone enrolment.

Standalone unit enrolments remain subject to prerequisite requirements, eligibility assessment, pathway sequencing, and scheduled intake dates.

Standalone units must be completed sequentially and in the order prescribed by ISHPA. Participants cannot enrol in a subsequent unit without successfully completing the prerequisite unit or otherwise receiving written approval from ISHPA.

Enrolment into a standalone unit:

  • does not constitute enrolment into the full certificate pathway;
  • does not guarantee access to future units;
  • does not guarantee progression into a certificate pathway;
  • does not guarantee future course availability;
  • does not guarantee recognition of completed units toward a future certificate pathway;
  • does not include ISHPA community access, certification endorsement, or directory listing; and
  • results only in a certificate of completion for the standalone unit successfully completed.

Participants seeking future recognition toward a certificate pathway may be required to:

  • meet updated eligibility requirements;
  • complete updated assessments or course materials;
  • pay additional fees; and/or
  • comply with the policies and course structures in effect at the time of future enrolment.

3. Eligibility Requirements

3.1 Certificate Pathway

Participants must meet the minimum eligibility requirements for their selected pathway and provide supporting documentation as part of the enrolment process.

Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology-Informed Practice

Applicants must hold a university qualification in a relevant talk-based health profession or medicine. Eligible professions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Social Work
  • Counselling
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychotherapy
  • Medicine
  • Other allied health or mental health professions approved by Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia(ISHPA)

Applicants are required to provide a copy of their relevant degree certificate or other evidence of qualification.

Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology

Applicants must be registered psychologists with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold, at a minimum, provisional registration.

Applicants are required to provide a copy of their current AHPRA registration certificate.

3.2 Standalone Unit

Participants enrolling into standalone units must meet the eligibility requirements applicable to that unit and provide any supporting documentation requested by ISHPA.

At present, eligibility requirements for standalone enrolment into Unit 1 are aligned with the eligibility requirements for the Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology-Informed Practice pathway.

Eligibility requirements for standalone units may change over time and may differ between units.

Supporting Documentation

ISHPA may request additional documentation, including but not limited to:

  • Evidence of academic qualifications
  • Professional registration details
  • Curriculum vitae or résumé
  • Other supporting documentation relevant to eligibility assessment

Eligibility Assessment

Eligibility is assessed after enrolment/purchase and prior to course commencement or course access being granted. Participants are required to provide all requested eligibility documentation within the timeframe specified by ISHPA prior to the unit commencement date.

ISHPA reserves the right to:

  • Decline an enrolment application
  • Refuse access to the course
  • Request additional supporting information
  • Issue a full refund where eligibility requirements are not met prior to commencement

Admission to the program is at the discretion of ISHPA and is based on the applicant’s qualifications, professional background, and suitability for the selected pathway.

4. Fees & Payment Terms

4.1 Certificate Pathway

Course Fees

The total tuition fees for the certificate pathways are as follows:

  • Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology-Informed Practice: AUD $3,200
  • Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology: AUD $4,800

All fees are quoted in Australian dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.

Payment Options

Participants may choose from the following payment options:

  • Upfront payment in full; or
  • An approved instalment payment plan.

Payment Plans

Payment plans are instalment arrangements for the total certificate pathway fee rather than for individual units.

By selecting a payment plan, participants agree that:

  • Payments commence from the date of enrolment.
  • Payments continue according to the agreed payment schedule.
  • Payment obligations are independent of unit progression and are not linked to the timing of individual units.
  • Completion of one unit does not alter or pause the agreed payment schedule.

Payment plans are designed to make the program more accessible while enabling participants to spread the cost of the full certificate pathway over time.

4.2 Standalone Unit

Standalone unit fees are charged per unit and must be paid upfront in accordance with the payment terms specified at enrolment.

Unless otherwise stated in writing by ISHPA:

  • payment plans for full certificate pathways do not apply to standalone unit enrolments;
  • standalone unit enrolments are not eligible for payment pauses or flexible payment arrangements linked to certificate pathways; and
  • fees paid for standalone units are not automatically credited toward future full certificate pathway enrolment.

Financial Difficulties

Participants experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to contact Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia(ISHPA) as early as possible to discuss their circumstances.

At ISHPA’s discretion, the following may be considered on a case-by-case basis:

  • Alternative payment arrangements
  • Short-term payment extensions
  • Exceptional circumstance considerations

Approval of any alternative arrangement is not guaranteed and remains at the sole discretion of ISHPA.

Pausing Payment Plans

Pausing or suspending payment plans is not considered a standard progression option.

Participants who defer, withdraw, fail to meet progression requirements, or do not commence subsequent units remain responsible for all outstanding payments under their agreed payment plan unless otherwise approved in writing by ISHPA.

Non-Payment

Failure to make payments in accordance with the agreed schedule may result in:

  • Suspension of access to course materials and tutorials
  • Withholding of assessment results
  • Ineligibility to progress to subsequent units
  • Withholding of certificate
  • Referral of outstanding accounts for recovery where appropriate

Fee Changes

ISHPA reserves the right to amend course fees for future intakes. Once a participant has enrolled, the agreed fee for that enrolment will remain fixed unless otherwise stated in writing.

5. Assessment, Re-Submission and Certificate Policy

Certificate Requirements

To be awarded a certificate from Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA), participants must:

  1. Successfully complete all required units within their enrolled certificate pathway.
  2. Meet all requirements for each unit, including:
    • Completion of 100% of course lessons and required learning activities;
    • Attendance at the minimum number of live tutorials specified for the unit;
    • Submission of all required assessment tasks by the due dates (unless an extension has been approved); and
    • Achievement of a minimum grade of 70% on each assessment task.
  3. Receive a passing result for each required unit.
  4. Pay all course fees in full, including completion of all installments under any approved payment plan.

Only participants who satisfy all academic and financial requirements will be issued with an official certificate of completion.

Participants enrolled only in standalone units who successfully complete the relevant unit will receive a certificate of completion for that standalone unit only. Standalone unit completion does not constitute completion of an ISHPA certificate pathway and does not provide eligibility for directory listing, certification endorsement, or ISHPA graduate recognition unless otherwise approved by ISHPA in writing.

Assessment and Grading

Units that include formal assessment are accompanied by detailed marking guides and assessment instructions outlining the required competencies and expectations.

Assessment tasks are designed to ensure that participants have demonstrated sufficient knowledge, clinical reasoning, and practical skill in relation to the learning outcomes and core competencies of each unit.

To successfully complete an assessed unit, participants must achieve:

  • A minimum mark of 70% on each assessment task; and
  • A passing result for the unit overall.

Re-Submission Policy

If a participant does not achieve a passing grade on an assessment task, they will be offered one opportunity to revise and re-submit the assessment.

Re-Submission Conditions

  • Written feedback will be provided outlining the areas requiring improvement.
  • Re-submitted assessments must be received within 21 days of the original results being released.
  • Only one re-submission is permitted for each assessment task.
  • Re-submitted assessments are graded on a pass/fail basis and, where a numerical mark is recorded, the maximum achievable mark is 70%.

This policy recognises that meaningful learning often occurs through feedback and reflection while maintaining the academic integrity and standards of the program.

Grading Appeals

Participants may appeal an assessment result if they believe the grade does not accurately reflect their performance.

Appeals must:

  • Be submitted in writing to the Lead Trainer within 14 days of the results being released; and
  • Clearly outline the basis for the appeal.

The Lead Trainer will review the submission and determine the final outcome. The decision of the Lead Trainer is final.

Re-Enrolment After Unsuccessful Completion

Participants who do not meet the assessment requirements after the permitted re-submission may re-enrol in the relevant unit in a future intake at a reduced fee.

  • Re-enrolment within 12 months of the original unit commencement date: 50% of the current unit fee.
  • Re-enrolment more than 12 months after the original unit commencement date: the full current unit fee may apply, particularly where substantial updates to course content have occurred.

Re-enrolment provides access to the current version of the unit, including all associated learning materials, tutorials, and assessment opportunities.

Extensions

Participants experiencing illness, personal hardship, or exceptional circumstances may request an extension prior to the assessment due date.

Extension requests must be submitted in writing to the ISHPA administration team and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Academic Integrity

All submitted work must be the participant’s own original work.

Participants must appropriately acknowledge any external sources used in their work. Limited use artificial intelligence tools may be permitted to assist with editing, proofreading, or idea generation; however, all substantive analysis, formulation, and written content must represent the participant’s own thinking and professional understanding.

The following constitute academic misconduct:

  • Plagiarism
  • Submitting work generated primarily by artificial intelligence tools
  • Fabrication or falsification of information
  • Collusion or unauthorised collaboration
  • Any other conduct that misrepresents the participant’s own work

Academic misconduct may result in:

  • Failure of the assessment task;
  • Failure of the unit;
  • Removal from the program; and/or
  • Withdrawal of certificate without refund.

5. Completion Timeframe

Participants are expected to complete all academic and administrative requirements for their enrolled certificate pathway within 24 months of the commencement date of Unit 1, unless otherwise approved by Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA) under formal deferral arrangements or where additional time is required due to unsuccessful completion and re-enrolment in a unit.

This timeframe includes:

  • Completion of all required units;
  • Submission and successful completion of all assessment tasks;
  • Satisfaction of all progression requirements;
  • Attendance at required tutorials; and
  • Completion of all outstanding financial obligations.

The 24-month completion period is intended to ensure that participants complete the certificate within a reasonable timeframe while the course content remains current and aligned with contemporary clinical practice.

Participants who do not complete all requirements within this timeframe may:

  • Be required to re-enrol in one or more units;
  • Pay additional tuition or administrative fees;
  • Complete updated assessments or course materials; and/or
  • Be subject to the course fees and policies in effect at the time of re-enrolment.

Any extension beyond the 24-month period is granted solely at the discretion of ISHPA and must be approved in writing.

6. Flexible Progression & Formal Deferral

Flexible Progression

Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA) recognises that participants are working professionals who may wish to pace their learning according to personal and professional commitments.

Participants may elect to commence subsequent units in later intake periods without this being considered a formal deferral, provided that all certificate requirements are completed within the standard 24-month completion timeframe outlined in Section 6.

Flexible progression arrangements are intended for participants formally enrolled in full certificate pathways and do not automatically apply to standalone unit enrolments.

Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology-Informed Practice

Participants enrolled in the two-unit pathway may generally delay commencement of Unit 2 by up to approximately four intake periods and still complete the certificate within the standard 24-month timeframe.

Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology

Participants enrolled in the three-unit pathway may generally delay progression across Units 2 and 3 by up to approximately three intake periods in total and still complete the certificate within the standard 24-month timeframe.

Flexible progression does not alter a participant’s financial obligations under any agreed payment plan unless otherwise approved in writing by ISHPA.

Formal Deferral

Formal deferral applies when a participant is unable to complete the certificate within the standard 24-month timeframe due to exceptional circumstances, such as significant illness, family hardship, or other serious events that materially affect their capacity to continue.

Requests for formal deferral:

  • Must be submitted in writing to ISHPA;
  • May require supporting documentation; and
  • Will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

ISHPA Discretion

ISHPA reserves the right to:

  • Approve or decline deferral requests;
  • Determine revised completion deadlines;
  • Determine any revised payment arrangements;
  • Require participants to recommence using updated course materials;
  • Apply additional tuition or administrative fees where appropriate; and
  • Place reasonable conditions on recommencement.

Approval of a formal deferral does not guarantee access to the same course schedule, assessment requirements, or tuition fees if substantial updates to the program have occurred.

Participants are encouraged to contact ISHPA as early as possible if circumstances arise that may affect their ability to progress through the program as planned.

7. Withdrawal & Refund Policy

7.1 Certificate Pathway

Before Unit 1 commencement

More than 30 days before Unit 1 commencement

  • Full refund of all fees paid, less a non-refundable administration fee of AUD $250.

14–30 days before Unit 1 commencement

  • Refund of 75% of fees paid, or the amount paid less the $250 administration fee (whichever is greater).

Less than 14 days before Unit 1 commencement

  • Refund of 50% of fees paid.

After Unit 1 Commences

Once access to course materials has been provided, substantial intellectual property and administrative resources have been made available.

Within 7 days of course access

  • Refund of 50% of fees paid.

After 7 days of course access

  • No refund will ordinarily be provided.

7.2 Standalone Unit

Unless otherwise stated in writing by the Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA), the withdrawal and refund provisions above apply separately to each standalone unit enrolment based on the commencement date of the relevant unit.

Participants enrolled in standalone units are responsible only for the fees associated with the specific unit(s) in which they are enrolled.

8. Payment Plans and Withdrawal

Participants who enrol under an instalment payment plan remain responsible for the full tuition fee for the selected pathway, unless a refund is approved in accordance with the Withdrawal and Refund Policy.

A payment plan is a financing arrangement that allows the total tuition fee to be paid over time. It does not constitute payment on a per-unit basis and is not linked to progression through individual units.

Where a participant withdraws and is entitled to a refund, any remaining instalments will be adjusted or cancelled once the final refund amount has been calculated.

Where a participant withdraws after the point at which no refund is available, all remaining instalments remain payable in full.

Exceptional Circumstances

In cases of serious illness, bereavement, or other significant hardship, participants may request special consideration.

Supporting documentation may be required, and any refund, credit, or deferral will be determined at ISHPA’s discretion.

Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable:

  • Administrative and enrolment fees;
  • Fees for completed units;
  • Assessment marking and feedback services already provided;
  • Payment plan administration costs; and
  • Any third-party processing fees where applicable.

Failure to Meet Eligibility Requirements

If an applicant is deemed ineligible prior to course commencement, ISHPA will provide a full refund of all fees paid.

9. Non-Payment Policy

Participants who enrol in a certificate pathway or standalone unit with Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA) are responsible for paying all tuition fees in accordance with the agreed payment terms, whether through upfront payment or an approved instalment plan.

Failure to make payments when due may result in the actions outlined below.

Overdue Payments

If a scheduled payment is unsuccessful or not received by the due date, ISHPA may:

  1. Notify the participant of the overdue amount and request payment;
  2. Reattempt the payment or issue an invoice for the outstanding balance; and
  3. Allow a short period for the participant to rectify the issue.

Participants are encouraged to contact ISHPA promptly if they experience financial difficulties that may affect their ability to meet payment obligations.

Suspension of Access and Academic Progression

If payment remains outstanding, ISHPA may, at its discretion:

  • Suspend access to course materials and learning platforms;
  • Restrict attendance at tutorials or supervision sessions;
  • Withhold assessment marking and feedback;
  • Withhold assessment results and transcripts;
  • Prevent progression to subsequent units; and/or
  • Withhold issuance of certificates and other completion documentation.

Suspension of access does not release the participant from their obligation to pay the full tuition fee.

Continued Financial Liability

Participants enrolled under a payment plan remain responsible for all outstanding instalments under the agreed pathway fee unless a refund is approved in accordance with ISHPA’s Withdrawal and Refund Policy.

Failure to participate in the course, defer progression, or withdraw from the program does not cancel outstanding payment obligations.

Cancellation of Enrolment

Where payments remain substantially overdue and no satisfactory arrangement has been made, ISHPA may cancel the participant’s enrolment.

Cancellation of enrolment:

  • Does not extinguish any outstanding debt owed to ISHPA;
  • May require the participant to reapply and pay additional fees to recommence; and
  • May result in loss of access to previously provided course materials.

Debt Recovery

ISHPA reserves the right to refer unpaid accounts to a debt collection agency or pursue other lawful means of recovering outstanding fees. Participants may be responsible for any reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts, to the extent permitted by law.

Discretion and Special Circumstances

ISHPA may, at its sole discretion, make alternative arrangements where a participant experiences genuine financial hardship or exceptional circumstances.

Participants are strongly encouraged to contact ISHPA early to discuss concerns before payments become significantly overdue.

10. Certificate and Advisement

Upon successful completion of all academic and financial requirements for the relevant
pathway, Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA) will:

  • Issue an official certificate of completion within 30 days; and
  • Invite eligible participants to join the ISHPA Clinician Directory (where applicable) within 30 days. Initial directory listing will be provided at no cost for a minimum of 12 months. Continued inclusion beyond this period may be subject to ongoing eligibility requirements, renewal requirements, applicable fees, and other directory requirements as determined by ISHPA from time to time.

Participants who complete only a standalone unit are eligible only for a certificate of completion for that unit and are not eligible for ISHPA certification pathway completion recognition, directory listing, community access, or otherwise approved by ISHPA in writing.

Scope of Certificate of Completion and Clinician Directory

Completion of an ISHPA certificate pathway confirms that the participant has successfully met the academic and assessment requirements of the relevant course.

A certificate of completion and inclusion in the ISHPA Clinician Directory indicate that the individual has completed specialised training in the subject areas covered by the certificate.It does not:

  • Constitute registration, licensing, or authorisation to practise beyond the individual’s existing professional qualifications and regulatory permissions;
  • Guarantee competence in all areas of sexual health psychology or related practice;
  • Endorse services or interventions outside the scope of the completed training;
  • Replace the need for ongoing supervision, professional development, and adherence to relevant professional standards; or
  • Represent a warranty by ISHPA regarding the quality or outcomes of the graduate’s clinical services.

Graduates remain solely responsible for:

  • Practising within the scope of their professional qualifications, registration, and competence;
  • Complying with all applicable legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements; and
  • Seeking appropriate supervision and consultation when working beyond their level of experience.

ISHPA makes no representation or guarantee regarding a graduate’s future professional conduct, clinical decision-making, or treatment outcomes.

Use of ISHPA Credentials and Logo

After receiving their certificate, graduates may state that they have successfully completed the relevant ISHPA certificate pathway.

Examples of acceptable wording include:

  • “Graduate of the ISHPA Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology”
  • “Completed the ISHPA Certificate in Sexual Health Psychology-Informed Practice”

Graduates may use the designated ISHPA Graduate Logo in accordance with ISHPA’s branding guidelines.

Use of the ISHPA name, logo, and credentials must:

  • Accurately reflect the qualification obtained;
  • Not imply endorsement beyond the scope of certificate;
  • Not suggest that the graduate is an employee, agent, or representative of ISHPA; and
  • Comply with all applicable professional advertising regulations, including those of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) where relevant.

ISHPA reserves the right to amend branding guidelines and acceptable usage requirements at any time.

11. Suspension or Revocation of CertificateRecognition and Directory Listing

ISHPA seeks to maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct among individuals listed in its directory and associated with its training programs.

ISHPA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or revoke a graduate’s:

  • Listing in the ISHPA Clinician Directory;
  • Permission to use the ISHPA Graduate Logo; and/or
  • Public recognition as an ISHPA-certified practitioner.

This may occur where ISHPA becomes aware of matters that, in its reasonable opinion, are inconsistent with professional, ethical, or legal standards, including but not limited to:

  • Findings or sanctions by professional registration boards or regulatory bodies;
  • Criminal convictions relevant to professional practice;
  • Serious ethical breaches;
  • Misrepresentation of qualifications or certification status; or
  • Conduct that may materially damage the reputation or integrity of ISHPA.

Where practicable, ISHPA will provide the graduate with an opportunity to respond before making a final determination.

Revocation of directory listing or logo usage rights does not invalidate the fact that the participant completed the course; however, ISHPA may withdraw permission to represent oneself as an endorsed ISHPA graduate or to use ISHPA branding.

All decisions under this policy are made at the discretion of ISHPA and are final.

12. Course Changes

Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA) reserves the right to make reasonable changes and updates to the certificate program where necessary to maintain educational quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and respond to operational requirements.

Such changes may include, but are not limited to:

  • Course schedules and commencement dates;
  • Intake timing;
  • Facilitators, trainers, and guest presenters;
  • Tutorial dates and times;
  • Course materials and resources;
  • Delivery format (including online, live, recorded, or blended delivery);
  • Course content and curriculum;
  • Assessment tasks, marking criteria, and assessment processes; and
  • Program policies and procedures.

ISHPA may make these changes where reasonably necessary, including to:

  • Improve educational quality and participant experience;
  • Reflect developments in research and clinical practice;
  • Meet accreditation, endorsement, or regulatory requirements;
  • Address staff availability or operational considerations; or
  • Respond to unforeseen circumstances.

ISHPA will make reasonable efforts to notify participants of any significant changes in a timely manner.

Where a substantial change materially affects a participant’s ability to complete the program, ISHPA may, at its discretion, offer appropriate alternatives such as revised scheduling, equivalent learning activities, deferral, or other reasonable accommodations.

13. Technology Requirements

Participants are responsible for ensuring they have access to the technology and equipment necessary to participate fully in the certificate program delivered by Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA).

At a minimum, participants must have:

ISHPA is not responsible for:

  • Technical issues arising from a participant’s personal devices, software, or internet connection;
  • Incompatibility between a participant’s equipment and course platforms;
  • Lost access due to outdated software or unsupported browsers; or
  • Missed tutorials, assessments, or deadlines resulting from participant-side technical difficulties.

This expectation applies to all forms of participation, including but not limited to:

  • Live tutorials and workshops;

  • Interactions with trainers, guest presenters, and fellow participants; and
  • Any associated professional networking activities.

Participants are expected to:

  • Engage respectfully with diverse perspectives and lived experiences;
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries;
  • Protect the confidentiality of case material and participant discussions;
  • Communicate constructively and in good faith; and
  • Uphold the ethical standards of their profession.

Unacceptable Conduct

ISHPA reserves the right to restrict access to learning environments, remove participants from tutorials or community spaces, or terminate enrolment where behaviour is considered, in ISHPA’s reasonable opinion, to be:

  • Abusive or harassing;
  • Discriminatory, prejudicial, or vilifying;
  • Threatening or intimidating;
  • Repeatedly disruptive to the learning environment;
  • Unethical or in breach of professional standards;
  • Inconsistent with the values and educational aims of ISHPA; or
  • In violation of confidentiality obligations.

Consequences

Depending on the nature and severity of the conduct, ISHPA may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Issue a verbal or written warning;
  • Restrict access to specific learning or community spaces;
  • Remove the participant from live tutorials or discussions;
  • Suspend access to the course;
  • Terminate enrolment without refund; and/or
  • Decline future enrolment in ISHPA programs.

ISHPA will generally seek to address concerns fairly and proportionately; however, in cases of serious misconduct, immediate action may be taken to protect the learning environment and the wellbeing of others.

15. Intellectual Property

All course materials and associated content provided by Institute of Sexual Health Psychology Australia (ISHPA) remain the intellectual property of ISHPA or the relevant content creator unless otherwise stated.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Written course materials;

  • Reproduce or copy course materials beyond reasonable personal use;
  • Distribute or share materials with other individuals;
  • Upload materials to websites, cloud storage services, or learning platforms accessible by others;

  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works for commercial purposes; or
  • Sell, licence, or otherwise commercially exploit any part of the course content.

Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution of course materials may result in:

  • Immediate suspension or termination of enrolment without refund;
  • Revocation of certificate or directory listing; and/or
  • Legal action to protect ISHPA’s intellectual property rights.

Participants remain free to apply the knowledge and skills gained through the training in their own professional practice, provided they do not reproduce or commercially distribute ISHPA’s proprietary materials or represent ISHPA’s frameworks as their own.
